Teacher Retreats

Please Note: Due to COVID-19, Ragdale’s 2020 Teacher Retreat has been postponed until further notice. Please add your name to our mailing list if you are an educator interested in participating in the next program and we will follow up with registration information as it becomes available.

Program Details

Ragdale’s relationship with schools are built through an ongoing collaboration with teachers and faculty. These educators create unique opportunities for their students to discover personal connections to the arts by introducing them to our artists and their creative processes. As a way to support the important work of our teacher partners, Ragdale offers a special weekend retreat specifically designed for them to benefit from the time and space offered in an artist residency.

At a Teacher Retreat, educators from a variety of backgrounds spend an extended weekend engaged in professional development workshops, group meals, walks in the prairie, and quiet time on their own. Guest teaching artists and other professionals work closely with participants to create a unique experience that can only happen during a Ragdale visit.

Eligibility:
Ragdale’s Teacher Retreats are made available to various types of educators, though a priority will be made to those who instruct in grade levels Kindergarten through High School. Participants are generally employed at a local school within Ragdale’s range of school partnerships (Zion to Chicago).
