Diana Schoenbrun is an illustrator, art director, and professor who lives in Brooklyn, NY. Her work focuses on visual storytelling in children’s books, comics, and editorial illustrations. Diana's illustrations convey emotion often through character expression and inky line work. In the past, she focused on 3-D work and made puppets for the Muppets, and studied traditional marionettes in the Czech Republic. Her puppetry and prop fabrication were featured in film, theater, and music videos. Diana enjoys writing, illustrating, and designing books and has exhibited at local festivals such as MICE and MoCCA Fest. She recently co-organized the first Ditmas Indie Comics Extravaganza (DICE) in collaboration with Taylor & Co. Books and runs a monthly Graphic Lit Book Group in Brooklyn.

In addition to making art, Diana is an educator and has taught illustration at Queens College, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and City Tech in New York City. She is a two-time gold medal award winner of special-format books from the Society of Illustrators and recognized by American Illustration and 3x3 Magazine. Her illustrations were published by, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Met Opera, and Penguin Random House. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a MFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
