Daniel Fajardo Gómez is the recipient of the Schumann Family Fellowship.

Daniel Fajardo Gómez is a Colombian artist whose work explores the representation of time and its influence on material culture through drawing, sculpture, and installation. He holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the National University of Colombia and a specialization in Development Projects from the Escuela Superior de Administración Pública (ESAP). His research-driven practice reclassifies and reinterprets historical documents, images, and personal experiences, investigating how time is perceived, represented, and materialized. Daniel is particularly drawn to objects with temporal significance—such as sundials, navigational instruments, and memento mori—which he studies through digital repositories and museum collections. His artistic approach combines digital fabrication techniques with traditional craftsmanship, emphasizing repetition, parametric structures, and modularity. Alongside his artistic practice, he has extensive experience in cultural management and evaluation, having assessed over 500 cultural projects for Colombia’s Ministry of Culture. He is currently developing "Todo es temporal" a project that examines representations of time in material culture, blending historical research with sculptural experimentation.
