Vimi Bajaj is a novelist, short story writer and retired physician based in Illinois. A graduate of the Bennington Writing Seminars where she earned her MFA in Fiction, she is currently at work on a novel based in modern day India. She was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2020 Books Pipeline Unpublished competition, for her novel in progress, VERMILION, https://bookpipeline.com/vimi-bajaj. Her work has been published both online and in print, including The Bristol Short Story Prize 2016, The Writer’s Chronicle, The Asian American Literary Review, The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review, and Panorama, among others. Her short story, “Nadine,” was produced as an Audible Original in 2021. She's been awarded writing residencies at Hedgebrook, Ragdale and the Macdowell Foundation.
