Rachel Keown

Rachel is a Michigan-based artist with Missouri roots. She was a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, with a major in Cinematography, and a minor in Screenwriting. She is a playwright, screenwriter, director, actor, and abstract artist, with several projects in different stages of development. Her prior accomplishments include residency at the MITTEN Lab, hosted by Rachel Sussman (“Suffs”) and Katherine Carter (The Metropolitan Opera, NYFOS Juilliard et al), and awarded a grant in the spring of 2024, from the Ann Arbor Creative Foundation. Most recent accomplishments include a partnership with TinyScripted in Brooklyn, for worldwide licensing and distribution for Rachel’s play, “Book’d,” which has played in different regions of the U.S. “Book’d” is also available in print with Ghost Light Publications. For the time being, she is writing a TV series on spec and looking forward to an artist residency at Ragdale in Lake Forest, IL in 2025.
