S.M. Sukardi is the recipient of the Anne Searle Bent Spiritual Art Fellowship.

S.M. Sukardi is a writer, essayist, and occasional critic from Southern California. They have received fellowships from the National Book Critics Circle, Kundiman, and Periplus, and their work is published or forthcoming in Joyland and the Chicago Review of Books. They are the co-editor of Soapberry Review, a journal for reviews of Asian American literature.
