GoldGrrl is the recipient of Ragdale’s HUMAN Residency Fellowship.
GoldGrrl is a creative force. She is the lead extreme vocalist of Chicago psych rock band Electric Mothership, drawing on her background as competitive breakdancer Natural1 and human statue artist "Golden Lady." Developed at Ragdale, her multimedia performance project "Robot is Present" stages a dystopian data auction where dancers embody human information sold to shadowy tech corporations. The project integrates live music, choreography, lighting design, and interactive technology to critique the commodification of personal data in contemporary society. Through both her musical and performance work, GoldGrrl explores themes of identity, technology, and corporate surveillance while maintaining her commitment to afrofuturism and Black revolutionary thought.
