MOMENTA Dance Company was founded in Oak Park, Illinois in 1983 and has been enriching lives through the art form of dance ever since. In 2003, MOMENTA’s mission expanded to include dancers with disabilities and the organization became a physically-integrated and inclusive company. MOMENTA’s performances seek to challenge preconceived notions about disability while showcasing the unique beauty of physically-integrated dance. In addition to performing for diverse audiences from the Chicagoland area and beyond, MOMENTA offers inclusive creative workshops for all ages, minds, bodies, and abilities. The organization also serves the community through two youth companies which provide disability awareness, dance training, and performance opportunities for student dancers. Whether students or professionals, all of MOMENTA’s dancers, choreographers, and artistic collaborators are encouraged to achieve excellence in creative expression as they demonstrate to the entire community the value of appreciating and celebrating differences.
