Enki Andrews
Interdisciplinary Art
Chicago, IL
Enki Andrews is the recipient of Ragdale’s Helen Balfour Morrison Media Arts Fellowship.
Enki Andrews is a Chicago based Multimedia Interactive Artist experimenting with physical phenomena to discover how humanity views itself in light of our finite human perceptions and how expanding those perceptions and reflections enhances our self awareness. The Natural Sciences and Art ground his work as an inter-disciplinarian having earned degrees in Physics and Philosophy and an advanced degree in Hydrogeology while pursuing his art. Much of his work is inspired by Complex Systems, whether they be Bio-tech interactions, Bio-bio interactions or interactive multimedia installations.
Initially inspired by “technology” artists such as Eadweard Muybridge, Alfred Stieglitz, Chuck Close, and United Visual Artists; Enki’s work is concerned with the passive and unconscious acceptance of our perceptions and how those perceptions can be challenged, enhanced, explored, redefined and used to reveal how our mind crafts our awareness.
