Thea Chacamaty earned her MFA from the University of Michigan, where she was also a 2019-2020 Postgraduate Zell Fellow. She has received residencies and support from Yaddo, VCCA, In Cahoots, Writing by Writers, and the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference. She has been awarded a Henfield Prize, a Hopwood Award, the Kasdan Scholarship, and the 2024 Michigan Quarterly Review Lawrence Foundation Prize. Her short fiction appears in the Missouri Review, Southern Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Indiana Review, Hopkins Review, and Colorado Review. She was also a 2024-2025 Steinbeck Fellow at San Jose State University. She lives in the Bay Area with her family, where she is at work on a novel.
