Kristi Coulter is the author of two memoirs from Farrar, Straus & Giroux: NOTHING GOOD CAN COME FROM THIS, a 2019 finalist for the Washington State Book Award; and 2023’s EXIT INTERVIEW: THE LIFE & DEATH OF MY AMBITIOUS CAREER, a Slate Book Club pick and the 2025 King County (WA) Reads selection. Her essays and short fiction also appear in The Paris Review, New York Magazine, Elle, Glamour, The Believer, The Mississippi Review, Vox, Columbia Journal, and elsewhere.
Kristi holds an MFA from the University of Michigan, where she received the Roy Cowden and Stephen Farrar Fellowships and won the Hopwood Award. She has taught creative writing at the University of Michigan, the University of Washington Continuum College, Hugo House, and the Work Room. She splits her time between Minneapolis and Los Angeles and is at work on a novel.
