Jonathan Callard is a writer, editor, and teacher. The winner of the Prairie Schooner Creative Nonfiction Contest judged by National Book Award honoree Sarah M. Broom, his work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, PublicSource, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh Magazine, Creative Nonfiction, Hotel Amerika, Gulf Coast, Image, and the Dallas Morning News, among others, and has earned fellowships from the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, the Ragdale Foundation, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. With twenty-five years of experience in higher education as a lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh, public relations specialist at the Graduate Theological Union, and admissions officer and fundraiser at Tufts University, Jonathan has led writing workshops with Interfaith America and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and taught for the Creative Nonfiction Foundation. He currently offers writer-mentoring services and teaches for the University of Pittsburgh, where he received an MFA in nonfiction writing and has been recognized as a “Most Valuable Professor” for his mentoring of student athletes. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
