Top of the Stairs
This charming room was once the family nursery, but was later re-purposed as a guest room. Now it is home to Ragdale residents as they work. Original photographs of this room show the Arts and Crafts influence, which will be maintained in the renovation. The ceiling plaster will be repaired, and the floor will be painted to match the original color. Wiring and HVAC will be updated. Wallpaper will be matched or the walls will be repapered with period-appropriate wallpaper. Trim will be stripped and stained to match original color.
Update on Top of the Stairs - March 20, 2011
The current photo shows the same view as below, but with bare walls. The half-timbered nook looks stark without the warmth of the period wallpaper. When the renovation is complete, this room will once again be a cozy retreat for Ragdale residents. In addition to repairing the plaster walls and ceiling, the wood trim and cabinetry will be stripped and restored to their original dark-green stain.
