Sarah's Bedroom

Sarah's Bedroom was added to the home in 1907 and was presumed to have been built to accommodate Howard Shaw's mother after her husband's death in 1906. Above the fireplace are plaster decorations that have been cleaned and coated to preserve them. Sarah did the paintings in the room.  Major structural work leveled the sagging floor and braced the dormers.  The wallpaper is an adaptation of a paper from the Molly Brown house in Dener, Colorado from 1910. Plaster walls and ceiling were repaired. The floor was varnished to match the original or historic color. HVAC was updated.
