Alice's Suite
This beautiful suite was where Alice lived and where she ran Ragdale Foundation in its early years. The ensemble of rooms includes a bedroom, a study, a bathroom, a dressing area, and a sleeping porch - an idyllic retreat in the country. The bedroom seen on this page is currently a deep yellow, which contrasts with the grass cloth paper in the study seen in the next page. Plaster will be repaired, period-appropriate wallpaper will be installed, trim will be painted or stained and refinished. The floor will be stripped and painted to match color.
NOVEMBER 28, 2011
Such a difference in Alice’s bedroom! The walls and ceiling are repaired. Everything is primed and ready for the final interior treatment. It is an amazing transformation that can be appreciated by comparing the photo below with those from the early days of the renovation.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2011
Alice’s suite has seen many changes, and in the photos below you can see the electrical work upgrade. This room along with the Blue Room will have new ceilings installed. As in most other rooms of the house, the windows are out for repair and the walls are being readied for the skim coat of plaster. Not seen in these photos is the new bathroom. It had once been just for Alice’s suite, but by splitting the space, one bathroom becomes two to fulfill the goal of providing a bathroom for every bedroom. Albert’s room is the lucky recipient of the space split.

Update on Alice's Room - March 20, 2011
As seen in this photo, the ceiling needs extensive repair. The plaster will be removed and replaced with plaster and lath.
