2005 - Barnhouse Renovation

Ragdale completed a $4.5 million capital campaign, which funded the renovation of the Barnhouse, upgrade of artist facilities, and restoration of Shaw's landscape, as well as built a $2.5 million endowment. The Chandler Studio, a new universally accessible studio, was one of the capital projects completed through the campaign.

"My books, easels, paper, canvases, paints, brushes and color filled the Chandler Studio and made it home for the last four weeks. There was never doubt about work to be done, dreams to dream, or books to read. Every morning, 'hoisting the sails,' raising the blinds on the five windows, I greeted each day with enthusiasm and purpose. I did not want to squander a precious minute of Ragdale time. Such wonderful people greeted me each day as I 'popped' out of the studio and into the kitchen. This time at Ragdale reinforced my belief that as long as I am able to paint, much more comes into my life."
